Picture This: Through a Nurse’s Eye

Ever wonder what the missions are like for our volunteers? Please take a moment to read this touching article written by our very own volunteer Kate Earley. This article was originally written for The Canadian Federation of Nurses Union International Solidarity grant. What is Perfusion

Do you know what Perfusion is? Many have never heard the term, yet this role is such vital one in the realm of heart surgery. Without the proper management of the heart, lungs, and blood, the life of a person’s body could not be sustained! Though the surgeon performs the lifesaving surgery, the Perfusionist’s role is vital to sustaining the brain and other organs while the heart repair is being carried out. Thanks to the generous donation from Perfusion.com, that donated perfusion guide manuals to our missions, we are [...]

Dolls of Love

We would like to acknowledge and express our deep gratitude to a small group of ladies from the United Methodist church, Lake Oswego, Oregon, who meet each Wednesday and devote their day to making dolls and hearts from linen material donated within their community. Their fabulous work in their free time results in their gifts reaching several parts of the world, and include regular donations to cancer patients and children with long-term disabilities, including the heart patients assisted by CardioStart International on its missions. These wonderful gestures of love [...]
