Memories Living On

As we begin a new year, it’s a time to reflect on how the past year has shaped us in our missions. Thanks to the help of our volunteers, throughout 2016 we accomplished 7 missions and over 60 successful surgeries! This year took us back to the Dominican Republic, Nepal, and Ghana to strengthen the programs that we helped to start, as well as to new locations in Brazil and Honduras to start new pediatric heart surgery programs. Yves Durandy

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of a dear friend. Yves secured his PhD in medicine at the famous Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI) in 1979.  Following this he had medical and perfusion-related experience in many prestigious French hospitals. He conducted pioneering technical advances in pediatric cardiac surgery, in cardio-respiratory management and for improved management of several types of complications. Latest Container Shipment

Great Job Volunteers!! This past season we have managed to send not one, but TWO shipments FULL of medical supplies to be donated abroad! First in August, our amazing team in Tampa, Fl, packaged and sent off a 40 foot container full of lifesaving equipment, a balloon pump and an echo machine to Dhulikhel, Nepal. Then in November our amazing team in Eugene, OR followed with an additional 40 foot container on its way to Lagos, Nigeria! [...]

Nepal Mission 2015 Update!

On April 25, 2015 a massive earthquake, registering at 7.8, struck Nepal outside of Kathamandu, with aftershocks rippling as far as to Pakistan and Bangladesh. This powerful earthquake demolished a great deal of the country and many people are in dire need. As CardioStart International was already scheduled to be there on a mission, we will continue our humanitarian efforts, and provide heart related medical care as well as emergency medical relief for the affected people. 2nd Annual Fishing Tournament

Second Annual CardioStart Fishing Tournament April 17, 2015 CardioStart will host its second annual fishing tournament leaving from the Hula Bay Restaurant, 5200 West Tyson Avenue, Tampa, Florida.
