Holly Sackett has a passion for helping others, especially those in developing countries. And she has proven once again that she can instill her passion for helping those in need to others by organizing a successful fundraiser. Sackett invited CardioStart founder, Dr. Aubyn Marath to the event to share his personal experiences of performing free heart surgery around the globe over the past 25 years.
After joining a CardioStart team on a mission last year to Vietnam, Sackett saw first hand the impact that CardioStart volunteers can have on children and adults in need of heart surgery. Joining her for the event, and serving as emcee and encouraging guests to contribute generously was Gwen Ha, from Washington, DC. This is the second CardioStart fundraising event that Ha has attended.
Pictured above are Holly (on the left and Gwen Ha. Born in Vietnam, Sackett left her country as a teen and now resides in Rochester, NY. Funds raised from event will help support CardioStart’s 2012 missions to Peru and Uganda.
