Andrew Lodge, MD

Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Lodge attended the University of Virginia for undergraduate studies before pursuing medical school and completing training in general and cardiothoracic surgery at Duke University. He went on to complete a fellowship in congenital heart surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and subsequently practiced congenital heart surgery for 18 years. In recent years, he has been working as a heart and lung procurement surgeon in the private sector. Dr. Lodge has long held a deep interest in service and in improving medical care in underserved areas. He has participated in surgical mission trips to Nicaragua, the Philippines, Ecuador, Bolivia, Iraq, and the Dominican Republic, as well as a non-medical mission trip to Cuba with a range of organizations. He currently resides in Dallas, Texas, and has a son studying business. In his free time, he enjoys a variety of fitness activities, reading, spending time with his dogs, traveling, basic woodworking, and working to improve his golf game. He looks forward to serving on the CardioStart board in any capacity where he can be of help.
