What is Perfusion

Do you know what Perfusion is? Many have never heard the term, yet this role is such vital one in the realm of heart surgery. Without the proper management of the heart, lungs, and blood, the life of a person’s body could not be sustained! Though the surgeon performs the lifesaving surgery, the Perfusionist’s role is vital to sustaining the brain and other organs while the heart repair is being carried out. Thanks to the generous donation from Perfusion.com, that donated perfusion guide manuals to our missions, we are [...]

Their fabulous work in their free time results in their gifts reaching several parts of the world, and include regular donations to cancer patients and children with long-term disabilities, including the heart patients assisted by CardioStart International on its missions. Memories Living On

As we begin a new year, it’s a time to reflect on how the past year has shaped us in our missions. Thanks to the help of our volunteers, throughout 2016 we accomplished 7 missions and over 60 successful surgeries! He conducted pioneering technical advances in pediatric cardiac surgery, in cardio-respiratory management and for improved management of several types of complications. His innovative ideas were also pivotal in the development of normo-thermic techniques for complex cardiac procedures. During his career, he was involved in several [...]

Nepal Update

WHAT WE LEAVE BEHIND Here at CardioStart we not only analyze our performance on our patients but also, what did we leave behind? We bring in medical staff from all over the world as part of our team, and together we aim to leave behind the ability to move forth after we leave, and to teach others how to advance the care they give. And for that, nothing gives us a higher honor than to hear that we not only affected the lives of the patients we were able to see, but also the hospitals and [...]
