CardioStart International is pleased to announce a return mission to The Clinica Corazones Unido Hospital in Santo Domingo. This one-week mission will focus on managing pediatric cardiac congenital surgery and adult catheterization lab procedures. The Rotary Gift of Life D7490 and Trinity International Missions are providing vital support to make these cases possible.

This mission was CardioStart’s 6th adult cardiac surgery mission to Clinica Corozonas Unidos, in Santo Domingo. HeartCare Dominicana, Inc. facilitated the team’ presence during the week and arranged for patients to be seen for this humanitarian surgical program.

The International Management Committee representing CardioStart is pleased to announce a return mission to The Clinica Corazones Unido Hospital in Santo Domingo. This one week mission will focus on managing pediatric cardiac presentations.
This mission was CardioStart’s 5th adult cardiac surgery mission to Clinica Corozonas Unidos, in Santo Domingo. HeartCare Dominicana, Inc. facilitated the team’ presence during the week and arranged for patients to be seen for this humanitarian surgical program. Several complex valve repairs/replacements were performed with intensive involvement with the local team. Unique to this hospital, two Off Pump Coronary Artery Bypass cases were done. One Atrial Septal Defect repair was carried out using an Amplatz device. All cases were successful.

ADULT SURGICAL MISSION SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC MAY 6-13, 2017 CardioStart completed its 4th annual Adult Cardiac Surgical Mission to Santo Domingo with great success. All patients did well and were discharged within a couple days of surgery. Rheumatic Fever, caused by untreated strep throat caused many to have damaged valves at an early point in their lives leaving them debilitated.
