We invite volunteers experienced in Adult Cardiac Surgery and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care to participate in this integral program-building effort at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in Lagos, Nigeria. With nearly 200 million inhabitants, Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa, and Lagos is the most populous city in Nigeria. Including its surrounding metropolitan area, Lagos has the largest population of any city on the entire African continent with 21 million people. Despite having the largest population in Africa, the country of Nigeria has no established cardiac surgical programs. An estimated 95% of all Nigerians live without essential medical services. In light of this urgent need, CardioStart has decided to expand cardiovascular surgery programs in this country by organizing this mission to Lagos in June
