Report on Cardiac Mission to Santo Domingo, DR: April 29 – May 6

This mission was CardioStart’s 5th adult cardiac surgery mission to Clinica Corozonas Unidos, in Santo Domingo. HeartCare Dominicana, Inc. facilitated the team’ presence during the week and arranged for patients to be seen for this humanitarian surgical program. Several complex valve repairs/replacements were performed with intensive involvement with the local team. Unique to this hospital, two Off Pump Coronary Artery Bypass cases were done. One Atrial Septal Defect repair was carried out using an Amplatz device. All cases were successful.

Lagos, Nigeria Mission Invitation

Despite having the largest population in Africa, the country of Nigeria has no established cardiac surgical programs. An estimated 95% of all Nigerians live without essential medical services. In light of this urgent need, CardioStart has decided to expand cardiovascular surgery programs in this country by organizing this mission to Lagos in June

Brazil July 2017 Mission Report

Nepal June 2017 Mission Report

Peru May 2017 Mission Report

Dominican Republic May 2017 Mission Report

ADULT SURGICAL MISSION SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC MAY 6-13, 2017 CardioStart completed its 4th annual Adult Cardiac Surgical Mission to Santo Domingo with great success.  All patients did well and were discharged within a couple days of surgery.
