Yves Durandy

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of a dear friend. Yves secured his PhD in medicine at the famous Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI) in 1979.  Following this he had medical and perfusion-related experience in many prestigious French hospitals. He conducted pioneering technical advances in pediatric cardiac surgery, in cardio-respiratory management and for improved management of several types of complications. Latest Container Shipment

Great Job Volunteers!! This past season we have managed to send not one, but TWO shipments FULL of medical supplies to be donated abroad! First in August, our amazing team in Tampa, Fl, packaged and sent off a 40 foot container full of lifesaving equipment, a balloon pump and an echo machine to Dhulikhel, Nepal. Then in November our amazing team in Eugene, OR followed with an additional 40 foot container on its way to Lagos, Nigeria! [...]

Dominican Republic 2016 Mission Report

2016 ADULT SURGICAL MISSION SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC Through the invitation and support of Fundacion HeartCare Dominicana, CardioStart International returned for a 4th mission to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Hospital Corozonas Unidos. This very successful mission was focused on adult congenital and acquired heart disease surgical treatment.  Eight patients aged 17 to 70 received life-saving heart surgery.  An additional 4 patients received pacemaker/defibrillator implants through the donation of devices from Medtronic Inc.
